I am sure there a lot of qualified medical doctors on Brilliant in various specialisations .I would like to know what books they suggest for gaining broad based expertise in medical literature (comprising of both formal and informal stuff from the basics).I am off late very much interested in neuroscience opthamology and oncology and psychology connected with statistics. Also please do mention the specific sub field also for example non linear dynamics ,computational neuroscience ,etc .Those interested must read the phantoms of the brain by VS Ramachandran and Sandra Blakeslee and TEDx talk by VS Ramachandran .There are again number of good books written by mac arthur fellows with great stuff. Currently reading the emperor of all maladies by siddhartha mukherjee .But the book in not strictly scientific .I would like to suggest me./other medical enthusiasts some hard science stuff to gain a primitive understanding of these fields . Thank You

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.
