the new interface

The new look has certainly grown on me. The unlimited number of problems beats all the discomfort due to change; one can have a glorious binge in a particular area now :) There is not an unlimited supply, though... I hope the paucity of problems in calculus is the exception, perhaps because it's a relatively new category? I still wish all the problems are more rigorously arranged according to rating, though -- so that one can locate the desired level with more ease.

With all that said, Brilliant never disappoints; I am the one who needs adjustment.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Yezi – happy to hear it's growing on you! We agree that ergonomically, it is still difficult to navigate and there's a lot that we could be doing better. But first and foremost we wanted to allow users to be able to access more problems. We also wanted to make it more possible for the community to share problems with each other. We're a small team, and very limited in terms of the number of problems that Brilliant staff can write each week. The more that we enable the community to contribute to Brilliant, the more there will be for everyone to enjoy. Thanks as always for your feedback.

Thanks for your feedback. We're glad to see that you are enjoying the problems.

Over time, the community will be contributing problems to these topics, and it will approach a (seemingly) unlimited supply. I encourage you to share problems that you find interesting, so that everyone can benefit from the conversations that you start.

The problems are arranged by chronological order, as opposed to difficulty, in order for you to easily find new material to work on every time that you come back. Imagine coming back 10 weeks later, and having to wade through everything you saw in the past 10 weeks in order to get to new problems of that week in some rating range. Even I would give up at that point in time (or even at the 5th week).
