There's a bug in the "My Courses" feature.

Hi, I've noticed a bug that effects the "Recently worked on courses" feature. I love the idea of keeping track of your most recent courses, but when I'm working on a course and eventually wrap up for the day or simply close the course to return to the homescreen or progress section, the course that I was just working on will be permanently deleted from the "My courses" feature. I cannot even re-add it.

At this point, even though I work Classical Mechanics, Multivariable Calc, and Linear Alg. practically every day, I only have 3 recent courses that show in "My courses." And unfortunately, one of them is a subject I'm no longer working on.

Please fix this bug because I love seeing my recent activity, it gives me further motivation and it feels like I'm visually tracking my progress.

If I may, I have a few further suggestions on how to improve the feature.

  1. Users should be able to add and delete whichever 5 courses they'd like featured. And they should be able to do this at will rather than having to actually solve some problem within a new course/domain. You as a website do not know the many ways that the feature could be used for by users, so its important to allow this type of flexibility. For example, if the feature were more flexible, I'd add 5 subjects I'd like to approach in the future and screenshot what they look like together, this adds a visual motivation for me as I replace the destination subjects with the subjects I'm currently on.

  2. If an admin does not wish to add more flexibility to the My Courses feature, then perhaps a 2nd feature can be added wherein users can add courses to a "Favorite Courses" list or archive. This Favorite feature will work as suggested in (1), but the number of subjects users can add may even exceed five.

Below I have provided a screenshot of what my "Courses" page currently looks like, but the shown collection of subjects is outdated given that I have completed Geometry 2 and 3D. Yet, Geometry 2 remains and I cannot replace it. The bug has prevented the system from keeping track of my current progress. So as mentioned above, the screenshot explains what I see, but the 5 that should be shown are:

Linear Algebra - Multivariable Calculus - Classical Mechanics - Complex Numbers and; Differential Equations

Thank you.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Yea the feature still isn't totally fixed and the recent courses it closed me out of still will not register as recently worked. So, its effectively still not keeping tabs on my progress. But I'm glad you guys are still working on the issue.

@Frisk Dreemurr Thanks for the help earlier, I've added the request here instead.

@Brilliant Mathematics, I am also having a similar bug, I am seeing "Joy of Problem Solving" course in my recent courses, but I don't remember opening it and doing it. Also, I can't see the course I was doing a few days ago, and is 90% incomplete, please fix these bugs.

Hi Is this the right place to contact @ Brilliant Matematics?
