Situation: The lady was dissatisfied when she cooked the egg in the pan of boiling water under normal heat from the oven. What would be the fastest way to cook the egg, turn up the flame (increase the heat) or put it on the pressure cooker under the same heat as it was on the pan?and why?

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

Pressure cooker will be the fastest way to cook. Since pressure goes on increasing keeping the volume constant and temperature will increase. A nozzle on the top will control the pressure in the cooker and in turn controlling the temperature.
Increasing the heat will vaporise more water thus the heat transferred to egg will decrease,so to stop more evaporation of water we have to increase pressure of water so that boiling point of water can be increased and more heat could be transferred to egg.
