Time Travel

I had many doubts regarding time travel. My best friend VishalS said that time travel is possible when we travel to the speed of light. so, let put our minds together and discuss this guys.

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Comments

Well if something exceeds the speed of light(which is not possible by einsteins equaiton E=mc^2 and other) then that matter's mass would be infinity or in other terms just like universe which keeps on increasing. But what really happens in Time Dilation( check it on google) which is the slowing down of clocks when matter moves with a very high velocity.

Actulally my doubt is how we can travel on time

sudoku subbu - 4 years, 11 months ago

if we can travel on time at speed of light then we also must travel when i am possessing a speed

Nice i also need to know about time dialation

I didn't say Time Travel is possible if we go faster than the speed of light. By using Quantum computers, we have the possibility to send messages faster than the speed of light. With this idea, we can alter the past, thereby the present will be altered.

When we travel at the speed of light, it is not possible to time travel. When we travel faster than the speed of light, it is possible (Which is not possible practically and theoretically) . Learn more about it in wikipedia
