TT: RC Missiles

The RC missiles are in my opinion the most important power-up. You fire an RC Missile, and your tank freezes, i.e. you can't move it anymore. Instead, you're now controlling the missile. So you can make your missile track other players and destroy them.

TIPS AND INFO

  • You are susceptible to being destroyed by your own missile. So watch out.

  • RC missiles have awful steering. Because of this, don't try to be a masterful ninja. Although weaving in and out is fun, be direct and minimize the time it takes for the missile to reach its target. Don't show off.

  • Before launching the missile, hide in a corner. You are an easy target when you can't move.

  • Try to avoid walls with the missile. It bounces off of them in a weird way and throws your controls.

  • When the missile is near an enemy, aim it straight at them. If it misses, it could hit a wall and you could pretty much lose control.

  • You only have so much time before the missile disappears after launching it AND after you get it.

Use these tips to master the RC missile!

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Comments

It's funny when you chase another person across the map trying to hit them and they are panicking and next thing you know they run into the missile.

It seems to me that death rays curve toward your opponents?

@Bj Prognome Lasers? Yes. :D

Could you also pick up a landmine and use it to guard yourself while you chase people with the missile? I've also noticed that the missile is faster than your opponents. THERE IS NO ESCAPE ;) (except for it timing out, but i tend to get a death ray right after and blow them up)
