Hi guys! My name is Vishnuram! I'm typically called Vish. Or sometimes Fish, heh. I'm a well, guy, a person. I've seen a lot of these message boards, so I thought I'd make one as well. I watch anime and read manga. :-0 I also like reading books, especially eBooks. Sometimes, I write my own books. I'm from Australia, I like playing tennis, soccer and some other sports. I play piano, flute and I used to play the trumpet. :-0 I like science and doing projects, exploring new ideas in math. My mathematical career started with the notion of . X'D
In a nutshell, that's something about me. Wouldn't want to give away too much. :P Let us have a nice conversation!!!

Hi Leo! Whats your favourite topic in Math? Can you tell how you have the time to be expert in all things like Comp Sc, Physics and not to mention Math.

Favourite topic... hmm, I like all of them, actually. I suppose I enjoy calculus problems. They're quite nice... I guess it's from experience that you get to be an expert... I don't consider myself like that though... :-0 I've lived for 16 years. X'D I'm turning 17 this year.

Hmm? The point there is, I suppose, one can achieve their potential in mathematics but it takes a natural way of thinking to be the best at it. o_O I have no idea on how to interpret that... And don't get any wrong ideas, what I mean by that is some people take longer/shorter to understand than others. If one has the mindset of getting better at maths, then they can. (y) I've probably said that before here, hard work, determination and persistence. :P I've read an article before on becoming successful... among those lines were, the only thing that you can invest in life is your time. That seems kinda off context here but it's partially relates to what I've said. :-=) (Hitler smile :-=P).

Hey! Very much inspired by your interest and talent for the sciences. Ever since I joined the corporate world I became "rusty". I'm 32 now and once had the passion and enthusiasm you have for science and mathematics. I somehow lost some of it in my 10 years of working in the corporate world. Glad to come across such a bunch of fine and young individuals. People like you inspire an oldie like me. Cheers everyone!

It's nice to see people inspiring others! Also great to be able to communicate with a whole variety of people with different experiences! Brilliant.org is a great place, it's never too late to get back that passion and enthusiasm for science and maths. :P Certainly I'm being inspired by a lot of people here as well. ^^
What I've noticed about you is that you can solve a large number of level 5 problems within a very short period of time(Much faster than I ever can)...Any suggestions for others on how to be a speed solver like you.....

Note sure if it's fast or not... A hard problem generally takes me about half an hour to solve. :-0 Suggestions may be... use paint to write stuff (y), I like saving paper, make your working neat (... I can't talk... My paint drawings look messy), but if you're using paper... write out your thoughts as you think of them. They're weird ...tips but, I was never good at giving advice. X'D
What topics have you written books on? Are these books available for others to read?

Currently, none of them are published. I'll perhaps will get the chance to do that when I get older. I have written concise editions (I guess, I could call it that way) on calculus, linear algebra, highschool economics and some on special theory of relativity. I actually wrote them by hand so I'd have to get it written on a computer. Currently, I'm working on writing books C++ and C#, inspired by a robotics project that I'm doing. Hope you'll all get to read them soon. (y)

Don't be discouraged, ^^ people become great through hard work, determination and persistence. It's not so much about the "talent" or being a "genius", that doesn't get you anywhere. :D Don't consider yourself a fool, well, we're humans so I guess we all are. :-0 Things that may help; learn new things, actually even before that... Find which way you like learning the most. ^^ Like watching videos or reading books, and learn what you like! :D I mean, at the start of life, I was probably like this too... I'm still kinda childish sometimes. o_o" Keep practising and you'll get better at things! Best of luck from me! Good luck!

Hi! I just came to know that you are an MITian.
Congrats! BTW, I want to know your views on whether coaching institutes or tuition are important for doing these marvels(one of which is passing an IIT as well, in India at least)

Thanks, and IIT, I remember looking at some of the previous ones or somethin' before... The trick is to see what they're trying to pull out. I personally prefer studying or teaching or I dunno with friends where the atmosphere is nice and calm. I think that's quite a good way of sharing notes and ideas. I'm not that into tuition or something like that so yeah. (y)

BTW, I am really very sorry that I have wasted(from my prospective) a lot of your time but if you won't mind(not necessary to reply, I won't mind if you do), can you tell me what is your ambition or what do you want to do to this world. In detail, you can check the BBC horizon website and the challenges the British govt has made to get the solutions to. If you want to care a little you can check those and I just want your opinion. If you want me to list those, even I can. I am not listing them here because it will make this reply big and boring.

I look at the information I got, what I need to achieve and write down anything that might help. ^^ It takes a while but learning a lot of things will give you like a toolkit for solving problems.

One last thing, What do you do when You get stuck? In other words, How do you stop yourself from thinking narrowly (i.e. trying a lot of methods untill something clicks.) Thanks again!

There are several techniques engineers, scientists, people etc use... like DMAIC or some other method. Essentially define what the problem is, if it may help, use mind maps or lists, etc. Of course, I'm not going into great detail on these ideas... If you're curious, you can search up "six sigma". It's up to you to decide how you'll utilize these guides. ^^

How are you so very good at all the topics? You're even good at chemistry and biology. You could well perhaps be the best Brilliant user ( in my opinion) as you exhibit excellence in each and every sphere. Would love to know more about how you are so good at it.

Hi!I just wanted to ask you a question about writing books...DO you start writing the script while you are studying a new topic or you make a collection of notes containing all your learning material and the finally compile it s a book??

Answering now may not be useful... hahah. It's mostly a collection of my notes. I just write sentences which transition from topic to topic. Wew. So scripting after learning. :P But it seems I do not have much time for that now. Ahah...
I am really impressed by your achievements. I just wanted to know from which websites or classes or books do you take help from? I am trying to improve at math and physics (I want to contribute to the field of Quantum Computing) but my school doesn't help much in that. I tried Khan Academy and Brilliant and both are really good. I would like to know about other websites out there which can help me?

Sorry for the late reply. ^^ Better late than never. :P If you enjoy learning from watching videos, look into "opencoursewares" from different universities, such as MIT, Stanford, Yale, etc. It may be tedious to watch but that's one option. I also believe edX is getting popular. Books... well, my first Physics book was Physics by Scientists and Engineers by Serway. Math... hmm, depends on the topic. :P
