Where have the likes of you been?

I've recently noticed that when you click the options button in the top right hand corner (the gear thingy) the "Like" button has well and truly disappeared. Is anyone else facing the same problem?

I hope it can be re-installed there. I liked that function (geddit? :D)

Thanks! Please reshare so it reaches the staff :D

Btw, another #FeatureRequest from me:

When you search for stuff on Brilliant, I notice that Problems, Notes and Sets are all stuffed into the same page, yet "Members" gets an exclusive option. What I propose is that we could split up Problems, Notes and Sets into 3 different pages to make life easier when searching for specific things on Brilliant. :D

What do you all think guys? :)

  Easy Math Editor

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

About your 2nd feature request, It'll be a really good experience if the things are separated, but do u know the problem that arises in that system? Once people start doing one thing, they won't go to the other thing. Like... if they start solving problems (of course, that is the thing everyone does for most of the time), then people might be reluctant to reading notes. Whereas if they come all stuffed together, it's a mixed flavor including problems and notes in between.... every coin has an "other side" ;)

Um... Not really because most problems appear above the notes, which are above the sets. So this problem (geddit?) still exists if you leave them clumped together. The proposed feature would allow for greater efficiency in searching for one particular note or set or problem though. :D

@Yuxuan Seah , here are your likes.

Yeah, I know you can find it there... But what I'm proposing is to reinstall it in the gear thingy. :D

I don't know the "Like" button? What does it "like" specifically? Or you can browse the problems that you liked? :o

Yep, you used to be able to view just the problems you liked -- ALL of them -- in that page. But it's gone now... D: Hope it gets back there soon :D

Wow. It's new to me. Thanks. I'll reshare it!

Astro Enthusiast - 6 years, 10 months ago

I mean you can still find the liked stuff at your profile page, where the 5th option is "Like". But I preferred the "Liked" present when you click the gear thingy. It's more accessible :D

Yuxuan Seah - 6 years, 10 months ago

Isn't it on the left now? Or was it a different one?

Javier Leon - 6 years, 10 months ago

Nope, it's completely disappeared. D:

It's on the left of the profile page for me. It allows me to look at all that I've liked so it sounds like what you're looking for, though I think the point is that it's not very practical, also I only get notifications of the answer to my post by email.

Javier Leon - 6 years, 10 months ago

@Javier Leon No... I think you misunderstand me. I meant that it would be better that the "Like" button would appear on the toolbar's gear thingy, but I already knew that the "Like" button was there on the left of the profile page.

So what I'm proposing is that the "Like" button appears in the options page (the gear thingy) again like it did last time. I hope it can be re-installed there. :D
