This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science
related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should
explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments
should further the discussion of math and science.
When posting on Brilliant:
Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Hello all,
We have suspended master sessions and are in the process of doing a major overhaul of the points exchange. The reason for this is that master sessions do not engage very many of you at a time. As we quickly expand as a site we are experimenting with enriching rewards that engage more of you. In the very near future, we will be offering books on the points exchange in order to offer more variety, and appeal to more people. We did not see expanding master sessions as a way of offering the community more, given the rate at which the community is growing.
A master session is ephemeral, a book you can read and reread on a flexible schedule. We decided that switching to books on the points exchange is a better way to offer more useful prizes to spend your points on, for more of you.
The new points exchange will be changed and live within the next week, possibly within the next day(that is a deliberately vague statement). It's mostly done, and just at the stage of doing fiddly things to it. Stay tuned. I will announce on the discussion forum when it is up and alert you on this thread.
Also note that master sessions have been suspended indefinitely and that Peter was actually referring to when the e-book prizes would be available when he said
the new points exchange will be changed and live within the next week
The new points exchange will not have master sessions because as Peter said, there wasn't an effective and fair way to make them beneficial to more than a few users at a time.

Thank you Peter. When do you think you will have the new master session up and running?

Trever,

The idea of books is totally cool and awesome!
What is the expected amount of points for claiming a book??

The points exchange is live, and books range from 2000 to 15000 points. They are really amazing books too!
