Why there will a Difference between Lifetime points ....at public profile page & Challenges tab

When posting on Brilliant:

It's because you might have used your lifetime points to get something,i mean from points exchange,when you do that no. of points in your challenges tab decreases whereas points shown in your public profile are the total points you have earned in brilliant,they never decrease even if you utilise the points exchange.

Edit: Note that you also spend points to view solutions during the week, so it's not restricted to redemptions in the points exchange - Calvin.
