Wiki collaboration party - Hosted by the community

Thanks for your participation in the collaborative process last week. Xuming had a lot of fun with organizing one, and we are now getting more of the community involved.

I am proud to announce that the Composite Figures page is now up and running, and there are numerous examples for you to test your understanding of how to apply this concept to conquer such problems in the future. 3 cheers for such a clear expression. Check this handy chart to see if you will benefit from this page:

We are still in the process of working on Propositional Logic Word Problems, Circumcircle and Related Rates of Change. Please help us out by filling out a portion of the page.

It is now much easier for you to participate in one of these parties, by choosing a topic of your preference and hosting a wiki collaboration party. This way, you can pick a topic that you are comfortable with, and collaborate with your friends to help improve Brilliant. Ping me if you are interested, and I can provide additional help. Of course, for those who prefer to edit your own page, you should continue to do so (and we are working on getting you better tools to obtain feedback)

This discussion board is a place to discuss our Daily Challenges and the math and science related to those challenges. Explanations are more than just a solution — they should explain the steps and thinking strategies that you used to obtain the solution. Comments should further the discussion of math and science.

When posting on Brilliant:

  • Use the emojis to react to an explanation, whether you're congratulating a job well done , or just really confused .
  • Ask specific questions about the challenge or the steps in somebody's explanation. Well-posed questions can add a lot to the discussion, but posting "I don't understand!" doesn't help anyone.
  • Try to contribute something new to the discussion, whether it is an extension, generalization or other idea related to the challenge.
  • Stay on topic — we're all here to learn more about math and science, not to hear about your favorite get-rich-quick scheme or current world events.

Here are some of the noteworthy moments of the "Distinct objects into identical bins" wiki collaboration party.

1) We organized a roll call and came to know about each other's favorite colour.

2) We discussed the targeted level and the motivation for someone to read this wiki.

3) We reviewed the added examples to know what we love and what we don't.

4) And side by side I was organizing the examples' review by colour coding into the google spreadsheet.

4) We discussed the structure of the page.

5) We settled for the final structure of the page.

6) We congratulated Vishnu Bhagyanath for successfully hosting the collaboration.
