Since 10 ! = 10 × 9 × 8 × ( 7 ! ) , 10! = 10\times 9 \times 8 \times (7!),

6 ! × 7 ! 10 ! = 6 ! × 7 ! 10 × 9 × 8 × 7 ! = 6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 10 × 9 × 8 . \frac {6! \times 7!}{10!} = \frac {6! \times 7!}{10 \times 9 \times 8 \times 7!} = \frac {6 \times 5 \times 4 \times 3 \times 2 \times 1}{10 \times 9 \times 8}. Then, we can expand the denominator: 6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 5 × 2 10 × 3 × 3 9 × 4 × 2 8 , \frac {6 \times \boxed {5} \times \boxed {4} \times \boxed {3} \times \boxed {2} \times 1}{\underbrace{\boxed {5} \times \boxed {2}}_{10} \times \underbrace{\boxed {3} \times 3}_{9} \times \underbrace{\boxed {4} \times 2}_{8}}, and canceling common terms gives: 6 × 1 3 × 2 = 6 6 = 1. \frac {6 \times 1}{3 \times 2} = \frac{6}{6}=1.

You can think of it like this, 10! can be written as 7! X 8 X 9 X 10, as a result you can cancel the 7! from the top and bottom leaving yourself with 6! / 8 X 9 X 10

6! = 720, now cancel the 10 to get 72/8 X 9

8 X 9 is 72 so you are left with 72/72 which equals 1

If i solve it in this way - 6! 7!/ 10! = 6! ( 1 * 7 ) /10! = 7/ 10 9 8 7 = 1/ 720

I noticed that

6 ! = 720 = 8 × 9 × 10 = 10 ! 7 ! \huge6!=720 = 8 \times 9 \times 10=\dfrac{10!}{7!}

This is a classic case of Catalan Number: knowing the first few terms of the sequence, we get 6 × 7 = 42 = C 5 = 1 5 + 1 ( 10 5 ) = 1 6 10 5 ! × 5 ! = 10 ! 6 ! × 5 ! 1 = 10 ! 6 ! × 7 ! 6 \times 7 = 42 = C_5 = \frac {1}{5+1} \cdot { 10 \choose 5} = \frac {1}{6} \cdot \frac {10}{5! \times 5!} = \frac {10!}{6! \times 5!} \Rightarrow 1 = \frac {10!}{6! \times 7!} . Reciprocate the expression yields the desired answer of 1 \boxed{1} .

All the other workings needs to show that 6 ! = 8 × 9 × 10 = 720 6! = 8 \times 9 \times 10 = 720 or 8 × 9 = 72 8 \times 9 = 72 which are well above 50 50 , so setting an arbitrary rule like saying you can't do any arithmetic on a number that gives a resultant number greater than 50 50 makes it more challenging.
