This question is incorrect because my mother's husband is not my father.

I agree, it needs to be more specific

He parents could have been once married but not anymore, or just not married.

@A Former Brilliant Member – That's why you have the option "Either son or nephew", because your mother's husband's daughter will be your sister
Then who is your mother's husband? Your uncle? Obviously it is your father. Please think before complaining. And no, they didn't mention a divorce.

They did not. But nor did they specifically exclude one.
I don't think it is incorrect to assume that if you are referring to someone in the third person, then they are not you. I think the answer is more accurately just nephew. This part of the question just makes the answer susceptible to interpretation of the question; I don't think it is right to say that one should always assume a third person reference might include themselves. That's confusing language.

There could have also been some sort of incest taken part
It makes sense if you are a woman
Pat could be a girl thus could also be son
I missed the question and was appalled by the correct answer until I realized that "Pat" could be Patricia or a woman. I was about to start screaming "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" when considering the idea that Pat's sister's child was Pat(rick)'s child.
Mothers husband = Father. Your mom and dads child is either you or a sibling. Your son = son. A sibling's son = your nephew
Incorect and silly

well.. critically thnking, regardless ur gender, you could be siblings and you could be the daughter too,,. that's why it may be son or nephew
In my case, my mother's husband is NOT my father. This is an assumption, this question is flawed.

But wouldn't his daughter be your sister, though? Half sister or step sister, but still a sister. The question is alright, but some solution's posts are not.
Nor strictly true. Your mother's husband is not necessarily your father. "you mother's hunband's daughter" could be the daughter of a previous marriage of the husband. What will make you her half brother or sister, and her son your half nephew. The question is not clear and the answer is questionable.

Step sister, but I don't know if you call their sons step nephews.
It is perfectly possible for your mother's husband's daughter to be no relation at all, it happens a lot when two people who marry have children from previous relationships.
Mother's husband is her father. Mother's husband's daughter is she herself or her sister. And Mother's husband's daughter's son is either her's son or her nephew
maybe she is talking about her own son and it is also possible that she is referring to her sister'son. So, the answer is 'either son or nephew'
Mother's husband = Father; Father's daughter = 1. Sister or 2. Yourself; 1. Sister's son = Nephew; 2. Your son = Son.

Someone's mother's daughter could either be themselves or their sister. Someone's son is called, quite obviously, their son . Someone's sister's son is called their nephew .
