Not a clear question. Strictly if you say you can "exchange" in its widely accepted English sense. We can always exchange 100 THB with 4 SGD then exchange the 4 SGD with 10 MYR. That is why, money changers (not exchangers) and banks use buy and sell instead of exchange.

Yup, thank you for pointing that out to me. I've replaced the last few instances of "exchange" with the appropriate vocabulary!
But market forces would bring the exchange rate of MYR - THB to 1 : 1 0 . If it was greater than that say 1 : 1 1 ,
(i) I could exchange x MYR for 1 1 x THB,
(ii) exchange 1 1 x THB for 2 5 1 1 x SGD
(iii) exchange 2 5 1 1 x SGD for 2 5 1 1 x ∗ 2 . 5 = 1 . 1 x MYR,
which is more than what I started with. This would cause a high demand for T H B , which in turn would bring back down the exchange rate to equilibrium (1:10). The case where the exchange rate is lower is also dealt the same way.

Yes, but it isn't always exactly 1:10, which is the point I'm trying to make. Sure, it will definitely be close to 1:10, but not exactly.
I do not agree, it is called cross-rate determined by 2 different exchange rate and you can determine the rate of THB-MYR

The SGD-MYR exchange rate and the SGD-THB exchange rate do not determine the THB-MYR exchange rate.
Edit: As Chew-Seong Cheong pointed out, "exchange" is an unclear word. What I meant was "buy"/"sell". You can exchange THB for SGD then SGD for MYR, but the selling rate may differ.
