Note : black play the worst moves and white play the best moves.

for white one of the solution is: 1.e4,2.Fe2,3.Fh5 Check mate. Black play f6,g5.

Well answer should be 2 intead of 3.

White: e3 then Qh5 , Black: f5 then g5

@Rajarsh Bais When you play 1.e3 ,1...f5, 2.Qh5+ so you check the black's king and g5 is illegal so black must be play g6. 1.e3 ,1...g5,2.Qh5 so black can not play f5 because the king has been checked and f5 is illegal.

Fool's mate is a possible solution of this problem. But with white mating the opponent, the colors are interchanged, making the 2 moves checkmate into 3 moves.

Here is a possible "game":

  1. W: e4 B: f5 (or even f6)

  2. W: Nc3 (any other move as long as it doesn't block the queen's path) B: g5

  3. W: Qh5#

(W=White, B=Black)

Thus, the minimum number of moves to mate black is 3.

i have used a three move checkmate before but usualy it is rare that someone would ever fall for that
