If you are going to add 10 + 20 + 30 + . . . 10+20+30+... and divide by n n , where n n is the number of addends; go ahead, be my guest.

But there is an easier way to tackle this exercise. Since the average or arithmetic mean is the median in any given data, and over here we have an odd number of data, just take the middle number that falls between the two intervals, which in our case is 500 500 .

If it happens, that we have an even number of data, in this case, take the average of the two middle numbers.
