Based On this conjecture
We can easily see that the point ( 2 , − 2 ) lies in the 4th Quadrant.
Now, Since -4 is Negative, ( 2 , − 2 , − 4 ) will lie in the octant behind the 4th quadrant, i.e. 8th octant, Which is our answer :)
