Can like charges attract each other!

All of you already know that :

Like charges repel each other; unlike charges attract.
Thus, two negative charges repel one another,
while a positive charge attracts a negative charge.

Question:

Can likely charged objects attract each other?

Yes It depends No

Because of induction, this is possible as if a small but highly charged insulated body is brought near a big similar but very less charged conductor body , the positive charge of bigger conductor is pushed away and negative charge is brought near. But the charge of insulator body remaining unaffected. This leads to more attraction than repulsion and hence they attract.

Yes, they can attract each other when one of them is very very large than the other. then, the electrostatic force acting on the two is not due to their initial charges but will be due to the charges produced due to induction and hence attraction takes place. but, it is a rare phenomenon.

Sorry for handwriting.....

Uh...…. I am so confused.

@Razing Thunder it's answer should be "It depends"

Why's that?

Because problem asks "Can likely charged objects attract each other?" therefore It depends on their sizes, distances between them, etc or option should not contain "It depends" it confuses people

@Vikram Karki Hm. Explains why I got confused when it was first posted.

@Razing Thunder I find the question rather vague. More than just induction could be brought forth to explain such phenomenon. The Earth and the Moon certainly attract each other, and could very well be likely charged. The attraction just isn't due to the electromagnetic force.
