Now here we can see that

Now the first two can be named, last two cannot be numbered together for the whole compound.

So III , IV are not straight chain hydrocrabons

Help: I saw this question on some website, where they said the solution is III and IV. I couldn't figure out why the option (I) was excluded,please help.

@Rishabh Sood Yep, then bro check with the rules if all figures have the same number of carbons as in the figure. Those which have are unbranched while those which dont have are branched :)
