Four Equations

Algebra Level 2

x + x + y = 14 L + L + z = 20 x + y + z = 12 x + z + L = 18 \begin{aligned} x+x+y&=14\\ L+L+z&=20\\ x+y+z&=12\\ x+z+L&=18 \end{aligned}

If numbers x , y , z , L x,y,z,L satisfy the equations above, find the value of x + z x+z

The answer is 10.

From 1st equation, we get y=14-2x

Substituting it in 3rd equation we get x=2+z

Substituting it in 4th equation we get L=18-2(1+z)

Substituting it in 2nd equation we get z=4

Substituting it in x=2+z we get x = 6

Now x+z = 6+4 = 10

good , I did the same
