Just take the $10^\text{th}$ root,

$\huge\begin{aligned} 3^{ 40 } & & 4^{ 30 } \\ 3^{ 4 } & > & 4^{ 3 } \\ 81 & > & 64 \end{aligned}$

Thus, $\huge\ 3^{40} \text{is greater than} \huge\ 4^{30}$

Nice solution! It would be better if you didn't use Text in LaTeX. i.e. Using LaTeX for only mathematical expressions and functions as it looks neater.
