You need to write it as 2 x 10 2 x = 0 x = + 5 2x-\frac{10}{2}-x=0\implies x=+5 . If it is not equal to 0, it can’t be solved.

This question might mean what 2 x + 10 2 x \frac{2x+10}{2}-x always equals

There must be paranthes around (2x +10)/2

yes it can!!! because 0 times 2 is 0, plus 10 is 10, 10 halved is 5 minus the original number is 5
