A box of mass 1 4 m with smooth base is sliding on an inclined plane of inclination θ = 3 7 o under the influence of a force F . A string of mass m length l is attached at A . The box is released from rest and a transverse pulse is produced at other end B . For F = 9 m g the time taken by the pulse in moving from B to A will be p r g q l . where q , r are co prime square free positive integers. find p + q + r

@aryan goyat @David Mattingly sir can u please post the solution?
@Md Zuhair Could you please help me out in this question??? I got the acceleration of the box to be 6 g/5........But then, the Tension in the string would be m g*6/5...........Where am I going wrong??
No bro. See ... The box rope system is going down with 6g/5 doesn't mean tension in the rope will be 6mg/5. The tension varies with x from beginning of the rope because for every element.... The mass increases from the starting point .... and hence the tension should also change for the acceleration to be constant for every element in the rope. I hope it makes sense?

Ohhh yeah........So dumb of me.....!!! I forgot that the rope was also tilted.....this is just like the case where the rope is hanging vertically and the tension varies.......lol,!! Thanks again bro!!

@Aaghaz Mahajan – Arre... No thanks bro. ;). Your doubt made me solve the question again... And it's good for recapitulation. Thanks to you for that

@Md Zuhair – Hehe....!! Btw, if you are really looking for some recapitulation, try this .............and also, this one isn't JEE level, but was fun!!

@Aaghaz Mahajan – Nice qs it was....
@Aaghaz Mahajan – If u have got more...Please send

Yeah sure...........But I would have to find them first....Brilliant has taken away all the sets naa................:(
But, which topic do you need?? Physics?? I have some pretty cool Maths questions too........Agar milenge to main yahi bhej dunga......

@Aaghaz Mahajan – Ha bhai... Tahu de dena. Aur maths bhi de de. Aur agar hua toh chem bhi :P
Log in to reply
@Md Zuhair – Chem to shaayad hi hoga yaar....XD......Maine abhi start ki hai Organic padhni, so you can expect.......!!
@Md Zuhair – Abhi ke liye you can try this ........or this ......and this one ......
Here........try this too.........Vaise to yeh famous theorem hai, but you can prove it yourself too........ here ........and this was interesting.............!!!

@Aaghaz Mahajan – Accha... Geometry :P... Hum bhool gye.... Phela wala ho gaya... Baki dekhte hain ;)

@Md Zuhair – Bhool gaye??? Mujhe to aati bhi nhi thi !! maine to INMO ke liye seekhi thi.....XD......Btw here .........and this one ..........

Geometry yaad karni hai to......
try this
..........or
this
............or
ye
..........and
this one
isn't geometry but cool.........
P.S. A challenge.......Generalize
this
for perimeter n.........!!!

definately a low rated question what i feel as i have seen some easy questions rated as level 5 including one of mine. just sit in box apply pseudo forces , integrate and use the formula for velocity in the string. we get T = 2 s q r t ( 3 g 5 l )
