Pulley on double inclined surface!!

Two blocks are connected by a massless string and placed on a fixed triangular wedge as shown in the diagram. All the surfaces are frictionless.

If the acceleration of the blocks is a m/s 2 a \text{ m/s}^2 and tension in the string is T N T \text{ N} , then submit your answer as a + T a+T to 1 decimal place.

Details and Assumptions:

  • The acceleration due to gravity is 10 m / s 2 \SI[per-mode=symbol]{10}{\meter\per\second\squared} .

  • Take value of 3 \sqrt{3} as 1.73.

The answer is 22.3.

Equations :

40sin60°-T=4a.....(1)

T-20sin30°,=2a.......(2)

(1)+(2)

40sin60°-20sin30°=6a

a=4.1

T=8.2+10.....(From-(1))

T=18.2

T+a=18.2+4.1

T+a=22.3

Are you @Aniket Sanghi 's brother?

@Aryan Sanghi Lucky you are. My brother is also topper in Physics ( Not JEE Level, But NEET Level). He also qualfied NEET 2017 with a under 1000 rank. He is studying medical, so he forgot almost all the things :P , But he also taught me coeff. of friction , concentration terms, etc. when i was in class 8!!

@Md Zuhair I didn't mean that he forgot, I mean that he has also taught me like your brother, he still knows 11th and 12th Physics

@Aryan Sanghi Its obvious that he knows those and he knows at JEE level. My elder brother knows only medical level
