Choose the number of correct statements from the following

Hydrogen resembles halogens in forming diatomic molecules, forming a large number of covalent compounds, ionization energy and reactivity.

The internuclear distance in Deuterium is greater than that in Hydrogen

Tritium is the most dense isotope of hydrogen.

High Purity dihydrogen is obtained by electrolysing cool Barium hydroxide with nickel electrodes

In the process of production of Syngas from coal C O \ce{CO} is obtained as a byproduct .

In the water gas shift reaction C O X 2 \ce{CO2} Is removed by using Sodium Antimonite solution

Dielectric constant of Heavy water is greater than that of normal water.

The H-H bond dissociation enthalpy is the lowest for a single bond between two atoms of any element

The synthesis of methanol can be done using a mixture of C O \ce{CO} and N X 2 \ce{N2} .

Only statements 3 and 5 are correct

statement 1 hydrogen's reactivity is very less than halogens

statement 2 distances are same

statement 3 is correct

statement 4 Warm barium hydroxide is used

Statement 5 is correct

statement 6 Sodium Arsenite is used

Statement 7 Its lesser than that of normal water

Statement 8 its highest for any single bond between atoms of same element

statement 9 Synthesis of methanol is done using water gas (mixture of CO And H2) Not using Producer gas (CO And N2)

Exactly the same solution! :). (Got the q right bro! at my first sight to every statement :). )

I am unable to send messages on slack :( (dk why!)

Answer to your Question

You have 2 H2 molecules , Break them E = 9.052eV

Then you are told that 2 H atoms will convert to H+ E = 27.2eV

The rest two will exit to state where 2 π r = 4 λ 2 \pi r = 4 \lambda by some calculation you will get n = 4 (Btw it's a fact 2 π r \lamda = n \frac {2 \pi r }{ \lamda } = n )

So energy for the excitation of that 2 H . E = 30 × 13.6 / 16 eV

Hence the answer

The given energy is to ionize H not H+ Bro!

@Aniket Sanghi bro i want to but my parents are insisting to take complete rest for getting well soon. i am thinking what to do now?

Prakhar Bindal - 4 years, 7 months ago

@Prakhar Bindal See , I guess you have to work on inorganic only right?

Physics you must be done , calculus you must be done .

So today and tomorrow take rest ( at least up to tomorrow afternoon) .

Then on Friday you can do your inorganic and complete your backlogs .

And try to avoid using Computer and Tab. ( Read book or listen songs instead)(Give rest to yr brain)

Get well soon! :)

How is tritium the most dense isotope. As much i know density of a nucleus is independent of mass number??
