The answer is 4100. The problem is looking to see if when adding up the smaller numbers (40, 30, 20, 10) your brain tricks you into thinking they are 400, 309, 200, and 100 in which case it would be 5000. But you have to keep these number separate in your mind so as not to mix them up.

It's a brain confusing problem isn't it

The two digit numbers add up to 100 100 and the four digit numbers add up to 4000 4000 which is another four digit number. So, the number would have 2 2 trailing zeroes, but there are 3 3 of them in 5000 5000 . So, the answer is not \color{#69047E}{\boxed{\text{not}}} 5000 5000 .
