Which was the last level which we could play and complete (not the last kill screen level which crash the game) it in the Classic Pac-Man game?

The answer is 255.

Since the developers used 8 b i t 8~bit computer The last number which they could record would be 2 8 − 1 = 255 \boxed{2^8-1=255}

Technically, the game never ends. But because of a glitch in the game , the 256th level is ridden with bugs rendering it unplayable !!! So the last level which can be completed manually is the 25 5 t h l e v e l 255^{th}~level .
