Minecraft Casual Speedrunning
4 friends were casually speedrunning minecraft dream running music intensifies and wanted to compete against each other. Their names are Amelia, Bob, Carl and David (ik im bad at coming up with random names). Using just these 3 clues, can you find out Amelia's rank on their leaderboard + Carl's rank on their leaderboard + David's rank on their leaderboard? (Add those 3 rank numbers up)
The 3 clues are:
- David wasn't in 4th place
- Bob and Carl finished in 1st and 4th place (in some order)
- Amelia finished 2 ranks below Bob's rank
The answer is 9.

so there are 4 ranks: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and 4th place and if you add up 1 2 3 and 4 you get 10

but one more problem if we just add it won't it be really easy to solve the problem? I mean the problem clearly said that you were supposed to add them up?
oh and it said that you were supposed to add up Amelia, carl, and David's numbers: 3 people not 4. I mean it clearly says that you add up 3 of their numbers, not 4
We need easy names for noting i. e. starting with consecutive english alphabet letters. Andy, Barbara, Casanova, Danny which make a sequence of A, B, C, D in their first letters. Can you get such a consecutive sequence in the names of Minecrafters? Of course.

Carl and bob can be 1st and 2nd place. From the third clue Amelia finished 2 ranks after Bob. So Bob can’t be 4th as there are no ranks further than that so he has to be 1st. So Carl is 4th. Now we need to calculate Amelia + Carl + David.
But since we know Amelia and David are 2nd and 3rd in some order we conclude that sum of ranks of Amelia and David is 2 + 3 = 5
And Carls’s rank is 4th so, Amelia + David + Carl = 5 + 4 = 9
Hence, the final answer is 9.
The sum of all ranks, 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 1 0 , means that to find the sum of all ranks except Bob's, we need only find Bob's rank and subtract from ten.
Clue 2 says Bob was either 1 s t or 4 t h and clue 3 says Amelia finished below Bob, whence Bob must be first.
The sum is therefore 1 0 − 1 = 9
