Even + odd = odd. (0 mod 2 + 1 mod 2 = what mod 2)

Let n be a whole number. Then (n + 1) is the next consecutive number. Adding both of it or:

n + ( n + 1 ) = 2 n + 1 , which means that it is odd since 2n is even \large \color{#3D99F6} n + (n + 1) = 2n + 1 \color{#20A900} \text{, which means that it is odd since 2n is even}

The best way to answer this is to add two consecutive whole numbers. For example, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+4=7 .. etc...

No, you have only proved with these examples. How can you say that it is always an odd number? and will work in all cases.
