Prasun Vs Azhaghu (Tic-Tac-Toe duel - 1)

Logic Level 1

Once Prasun and Azhaghu were playing the famous game of Tic-Tac-Toe. Prasun plays the cross i.e ' X X ' and Azhaghu plays a circle i.e ' O O '. In the above picture , now its Azhaghu's turn .If Azhaghu plays a wrong move, he definitely loses the game. So where can Azhaghu put a ' O O ' to defend himself from the trap of Prasun? In other words, where should Azhaghu's next move be such that he won't lose the game?

Details and assumptions:

  • A player can put his symbol only once every move and a player cannot say pass his turn.

  • If you think Azhaghu can put his symbol on say 1 , 5 1,5 then input your answer as 1 + 5 = 6 1+5=6 .

  • If you think Azhaghu definitely loses the game, submit 0 0 as your answer.

If Azhaghu places his symbol at either 2 2 or 5 5 , cunning Prasun would simply place his symbol at the other corner and thus Azhaghu will surely be losing the game. Hence, to keep his hope alive, he must place his symbol at either 1 1 , 3 3 , 4 4 or 6 6

Doing that will only keep Azhagu's hopes alive but he will definately not be able to win the match and prevent himself from falling in Prasun's BRILLIANT trap

no... playing at 1,3,4, or 5 creates a threat itself and Azhagu can tie

Agreed; I don't think Azhaghu can win or tie this one if Prasun plays optimally. No matter where Azhaghu places his O, Prasun can place an X at the optimal corner guaranteeing his victory.
