Temperature game

Chemistry Level 2

Harry is dissatisfied with both Celsius and Fahrenheit Scale and wanted to design his own temperature scale based on ethyl alcohol. On the Celsius scale ethyl alcohol has melting point 11 7 C -117^\circ C and boiling point 7 8 C 78 ^\circ C but on his new scale calibrated in degree E E . he finds melting point 0 E 0^\circ E and boiling point 20 0 E 200^\circ E .

What is the temperature corresponding to the melting point of water on this scale?

Imaginary bonus for finding the boiling point of water and deriving the formula.

Since E ^\circ E is a linear scale, it ultimately boils down to solving simultaneous equations in two variables.

Nice handwriting :) (+1)

The equation for a line that converts Celsius to the 'E' scale is: C=mE+b where, C is the celsius temperature, m is the slope of the line, E is the scale temperature and b is the intercept of the line.
