42 isn't really special, Douglas said it himself, just because we read it, we are finding co-incidences, it would have been the same if he had used any other ordinary number. I wouldn't call it a joke, its the reason our planet/computer exists. @Siddharth Chakravarty

Yes, any ordinary number is special in its own way, but Douglas story of picking of 42 was just that he looked into the garden and then just 42 came into his mind.

hitchhiker is one of the best books ever, so from that point of view i agree, but no other number was found with the properties of 73:
73 is the 21. prime. its mirrornumber – the 37 – is the 12. prime, and their mirrornumber (21) is the product of 7 and 3
