finding the last digit of the product of 1234 x 4321. we just need to multiply the last digit of the first expression to the second. 4 x 1= 4 so the last digit of the product is 4.

how to find last two digits?

Multiply the tens and units digits and add it up. In this case, it'd be 3 x 1 + 2 x 4. It'd give 3 + 8 = 11. Since you're only after the last two digits, ignore the carry number, so the last two digits are: 14.

There's a quicker way, using vedic maths. Last digit: 4 x 1. Same as before. Second last digit: 3 x 1 = 3, + 4 x 2. Cross multiplying. Gives the answer in one line if you continue using the method on all the numbers- can do it mentally! :D Ed

1 and 4 are the last digits and by multiplying them we get 4 which is the last digit of the product

In order to get the last digit......
Just multiply last digit as
1234: last digit is 4 and
4321: last digit is 1
Hence,
4*1 = 4
The last digit is 4.

First digit is 5 because 4×2+3×1=11 and 1 will get added to 4×1 Check diagram from aloysius mahendra , look for lower 4 and 3

( 1000 + 200 + 30 + 4 ) × ( 4000 + 300 + 20 + 1 ) (1000+200+30+4) \times (4000+300+20+1) expands to give the only contribution to the units as the 4 × 1 4 \times 1 term

1 x 4 = 4 The last digit is the result of the product of the last digits

If we want the last digit just multiply the last digit of the two numbers. So 4*1=4

1234x4321= the last digit multiplication is 4x1=4

if we multiply last two digit then we find that 4*1=4

Last digits from the two numbers are 4 and 1. 1 multiplied by 4 is equal to 4

1 ( 4 ) = 4 1(4) = 4

If you do it as a written method, there is no number under four (because for every different unit you need to shift it one space to the left) , so the last digit will always be the product of the last units' unit. Agh too, too easy

All you need to do is multiply the last two digits as these are the ones that will decide the last digit of the product. The question was the last digit of 1234 x 4321, therefore the answer is four as the last digit of each(in their respective order) is 4 x 1. The answer to this is 4.

To get the last digit of the product just multiply the units place of both. 4*1=4

in standard method of multiplying we learned in school is multiply first last digit multiplicand to the last digit of multiplier then add this in diagonal form , so 4x1=4 4 is the last digit

when multiplying ( 1234 ) by (4321 ) , the whole number (1234 ) is first multiplied by the first digit in ( 4321 ) which results 1234, so the last digit of the product is 4

Finding the last digit is the same as doing the multiplication modulo 10. 1234 × 4321 mod 10 4 × 1 mod 10 4 mod 10 1234 \times 4321 \quad \text{mod 10} \\ \cong \ 4 \times 1\quad \text{mod 10} \\ \cong 4 \quad \text{mod 10}
