If you're living a normal life and have enough water, you'd take the diamond because the water bottle wouldn't be very valuable to you. If you were stranded in a desert with nothing to drink, you'd take the water bottle because if you took the diamond, you'd die before you got out of the desert, and you couldn't make money from the diamond.
